Speaking

Speaking for me is a great way to interact with a lot of people at once. There is nothing like reading a crowd's reaction to a comment or statement, and deciding where to go from there. My past speaking engagements have almost exclusively been in the area of information security and privacy and information systems auditing and control. I cover a variety of topics and I can incorporate technical, organizational and management aspects. If appropriate for the setting I can also include social, ethical, and public policy issues.

Information Systems Audit (grad/undergrad university course)

I developed and taught an undergrad and graduate cross-listed course in Information Systems Audit in the Spring of 2005. The course become a required for all Internal Audit students in 2006. I taught it a total of four spring semesters (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008) during with time class size went from 15 to 60 students.

Privacy and Security Today: Are You Paranoid Enough?

This is a speech I gave at a MBA Graduate Symposium & Honors Convocation. Being twenty minutes in length there wasn't sufficient time to cover a subject as board as the title implies. It could have easily been two hours or more. In this particular I touched on the topics of unintended consequences and ethics.

ISSA - various

As president of the chapter I am called upon to be a meeting chairman, an event emcee, give presentations, and occasionally fill in for a speaker who cancels last minute.
